Political Vacuum: For How Long?

PM Jhala Nath Khanal resigned from his post on 14 th of August. And since then he has been just a caretaker Prime Minister waiting for someone onto whom he can hand over the post of Prime Minister. Seven days is about to come to an end but no consensus has yet been made between the major political parties who are demanding for a unity consensus government. Different levels of talk has been taking place from time and again but no result has yet been accomplished.

Nepal is in the process of remaking itself by turning it into a peaceful country which was once involved in a decade long conflict and war. The rebel group has come into the mainstream politics transforming themselves but also the peace process is just stagnant. A new constitution to be drafted is uncertain of its being drafted. The political parties are in a conflict with each other regarding the power sharing attitude. This power acquiring attitude and work of their has turned as a hindrance/blockade in drafting the new constitution and giving the peace process the final touch. Also the conflict among the political parties has left the country in a limbo with no official Prime Minister or official cabinet. This political vacuum which is arising in this Nepalese context is going to cost the Nepali people a lot as it will affect the peace process and also the whole economy of the country.

Mt. Everest vs The Waste Trouble

Its an honour for everyone to reach the top of the world highest mountain the Mt. Everest. And people are now and then making an expedition to ascend the highest peak and prove themselves to the world and themselves. However, not only are they scaling the Everest, they are also degrading the environment and the beauty of the world's largest mountain.

A news with the title " 8,110 kg of wastes brought down Everest" published in the online news site explains that a total of 8,110 kg of waste was brought down from the Everest base camp in a Mount Everest clean-up campaign launched by Everest Summiteer's Association. If you closely look at the amount of waste they have brought down from the Everest base camp, you will just be stunned. That huge wastes were lying there and no one ever bothered to clean it. No one ever took it as a threat able to degrade the environment and the beauty of the world's highest mountain.

Now the question that arises is " From where such huge amount of waste came in the Everest base camp?" And the answer is also simple-- Its the waste that the summiteers, who come to scale the mountain, dump there. How negligence of them! Isn't it their moral duty not to dump the waste material in the mountain. Instead they can bring back whatever waste material they could gather.

Its not only the case of the Mt. Everest. All other highest mountains in the worlds can/are also facing the same situation. The summiteers should keep in mind that degradation of the hilly area not only affects the concerned country, but also the whole world. So we should rather try to preserve the beauty the nature has provided us.

What Will Happen In May 28???

Kathmandu, Nepal.

The last date for drafting the new constitution is nearing day after day. Its 18th of May today and there's only ten days left for the political parties representing their respective areas and societies to reach into a consensus to draft the new constitution of new Nepal.

One whole year is about to end with no significant progress done in the constitution making process and instead of speeding up the constitution drafting process the parties are just lingering and having consultation with each other to amend the interim constituion and increase one more year so that they can draft the constitution with full flair. However, there are controversies between them, some are with the idea of increase the time limit where the others are against it. The CA assembly has now become a play thing for the parties where they are playing with the sentiment of the people and the great peaceful revolution through which they were able to remove the monarchy from the kingdom and turn the country into a republic state.

Its for sure that whatever controversies there are between the parties, they will increase the time of drafting the new constitution at the last hour. However, the political parties should not just wait and watch the time go away with no fruitful achievement.

Will Nepal Get A New Constitution On Time

Kathmandu, Nepal.

Sixteen days left for the new constitution to be drafted. The last date for drafting a new constitution is just knocking on the door, however, there is no sign that the constitution will be drafted in the given time frame. The leaders who are given the mandate by the people to write the constitution on time are not speeding up. They are just engulfed in power sharing strategies and are engrossed in a dispute with each other creating a sort of mess in constitution drafting process. Leaders of the parties has started blaming each other for not being able to draft the constitution on time. A year back too the CA members increased the time limit by a year saying that they could not draft the constitution due to time constrain. And they have just spent the added year just lingering here and there without any result and now they are playing the blaming game.

The leaders are now planning to increase the time frame to write the constitution by a couple of more years, however, the public should be aware to caution the leaders that they will only be provided the necessary time if they promise to work day and night in drafting the constitution and stay away from power sharing disputes and blaming games.

Can't We Find a True Leader????

Can't we find a true leader in this world? Finding a true leader who works for the benefit of his people and his country is hard to find these days. All the leaders who claim to be working for the benefit of the people and his country as well as for the benefit of the international community could be found obsessed with his own personal ego and benefit. For their personal desire we could find them waging war with others and killing innocent lives. To remain in the supreme position we could find them acting against the norms and mandate given to them by the people. They are there in that position for the people, to upgrade the lives of the people, however, they are just fulfilling their desires and ignoring the people. What they have forgotten is that---- without people(public) to follow them, there could be no leader. There are people so there is a leader; no people no leader. Keeping this divine truth in mind the leader should leave their personal desire and ego and work for the benefit of people and the country and also for the benefit of the international community.

Should UNMIN Leave Nepal?

Should UNMIN (United Mission in Nepal) leave Nepal? Its the much talked issues these days in Nepal. The peace process still in limbo, UN has decided to withdraw UNMIN from Nepal after its tenure finishes this month. The government and the parties representing them has asked UN to take UNMIN back after its tenure as they say that now they can handle the situation and peace process by themselves; however, the opposition party( the Maoist party) has sent a letter to the UN urging it to increase the tenure of UNMIN and not leave without the peace process finally concluded. With the government urging UNMIN to leave and the Maoist Party asking it to stay, the relationship between these two factions is seen to turn bitter, which can hamper the peace process in the future.
