Nepal Won The Final of ICC World Cricket League Division V

27 Feb, 2010.
Nepal defeated U.S.A by five wickets in the final of ICC World Cricket League Division V today at the TU cricket ground, Nepal. Nepal who was defeated by U.S.A. yesterday played a wonderful inning today and defeated U.S.A. by five wickets in the final match. Rahul BK of Nepal bowled a wonderful inning and claimed seven wickets to become the man of the match. Today almost all of the batsmen contributed their valuable runs to lead Nepal to a comfortable victory. U.S.A were all out for 172 runs in 47.2 overs and Nepal completed the score in 46.5 overs loosing only five wickets.
The Nepali cricket fans who were disappointed by their team's performance were elated today and also supported the team in the whole match.

Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 5

Nepal is hosting the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 5 games. The games has started from 20th February. Six countries -Nepal, Jersey, U.S.A., Singapore, Fiji, Baharain- are competing in this ICC World Cricket League Division 5 games.
Jersy, USA and Singapore are counted as a tough competitor for Nepal, whereas Baharain could also come out tough. Till now Nepal has played two matches -against Jersey and Singapore, and Nepal won both of the matches. Nepal defeated Jersey by six wicket and Paras Khadka, man of the match of that game, struck a fluent half century in that game.
The match with Singapore which was played yesterday, was a tough one for Nepal. Nepal fought till the end of the game to register a win. Nepal won the match by 12 runs. Thanks to the spinners who bowled will and shared almost all wickets among themselves.
Though the bowling of Nepali players are good but they have to improve their batting. In both of the matches against Jersey and Singapore, the opening pair could not score well. So to move ahead winning every game, Nepal should focus on their batting as well.

Diesel and Kerosene Price Hiked

The increasing price of the commodities is killing the people of Nepal, and the recent hike in the price of diesel and kerosene has added more problem to the Nepalese again. Though the Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the price of Kerosene and diesel by one rupee, it still becomes more in aggregate for the people of Nepal who are mostly poor and middle class with some exception.
With their plan of balancing the price of petroleum product the NOC ( Nepal Oil Corporation) has been regularly increasing the price of these petroleum product. Recently the NOC increased the price of cooking gas by a hundred rupees, saying that they are bearing loses in supplying the gas in lesser price.
These increasing price of petroleum product also acts as a factor for business agencies to increase the price of their product. As all these things are related to each other. The increasing price of petroleum product means the price of commodities, foods and all daily needs are also sure to increase.

Adios 11th SAG

10Feb 2010. Eleventh SAG festival ended yesterday , along with it the great the vigorous competition in different games has also ended. This SAG has been memorable to some, while others got disappointed as they could not perform well and win a medal for their country. Among the players from Nepal to whom the SAG became memorable are Deepak Bista and Rajendra Bhandari, both of them won a gold medal each for thier country. For all other players too who won medals, this SAG became memorable but for these two players from Nepal it just unimaginable. Deepak Bista a taekwondo player won the gold for the consecutive four times and made a history, being a player to win gold medal for consecutive four times. Whiel Rajendra who won a gold medal for marathon was exalted, because it was a test for him and his courage. In 10th SAG game he had won two gold medals but was stripped of it for doping reason and was banned for a year. He was playing in this 11th SAG game to prove himself and regain his confidence and ego.
In this 11th SAG, Nepal occupied the 5th position. The players who participated in this game gained a valuable experience which will be helpful for them in their next participation.

Whatever may be the table of the meadal winning players and country, this 11th SAG was held successfully and the players competed in their respective game to win a gold medal for their country.

Kathmandu Drizzled

9 Feb 2010. Kathmandu is soaked in drizzle. Its been raining the whole day giving pleasure to some while ruining other's plans and programs. With rain pouring down the temperature has fallen and the whole city is engulfed in cold weather. This unpredicted rainfall has atleast helped to clear the smog hovering above the sky of Kathmandu. Now the environment has become somewhat clear and pleasant as the dust particles in the air has been brought down by the rain.
The rain and cold weather is pressing everyone to stay indoor and enjoy the warmth of their homes.

Nepal Crawling Ahead in SAG

Finally Nepal listed themselves as a gold medal winning country in the table of SAG championship. Their thirst for winning a gold in any event ended yesterday when three players won their respective finals and won a gold medal each. Now the tally of gold medal for Nepal has reached 3 along with 5 silver and 15 bronze medals. Binita Maharjan, Sunil Lama and Ang Babu Lama were the players who opened the door of gold medal for Nepal.

British Army Chief Visits Nepal

British Army Chief General David Richards arrived in Kathmandu at the invitation of Chief of Army Staff Chhatra Man Singh Gurung for a six day visit on Saturday. General Richard on his stay will meet President of Nepal Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Defence Minister Bidhya Bhandari and his Nepali counterpart. General Richard will also observe the British Gurkhas Nepal's activities and also its recruitment process.

Bird Flu Confirmed in Pokhara

Reports confirmed that the some 200 chickens that died in Pokhara -7, died of bird flu. Government has declared the area a bird-flu infected zone and has started massive culling operation in that zone. The officers have quarantined the area, and the daily newspaper has reported that around 10,000 chickens will be destroyed.

Judoka Debu Thapa Bags a Medal

Judoka Debu Thapa, a survivor of the terrible elevator accident, clinched a bronze medal in women's 63kg Judo tournament at the 11th SAG in Bangladesh.
Debu Thapa was injured in the elevator accident and was treated in the hospital for two days after the crash. It was thought that she was not going to take part in the competition, however, she defied all those presumptions and took part in the competition despite being injured and facing the pain. She walked into the ring and won the medal. Though she regret of not winning the gold medal, her courage of fighting in the ring despite being injured should be praised highly.
Her other two colleagues who were injured in that elevator crash missed their match, but Debu made it and won the medal.
Debu you are pride of our country.
